David Mays

Director of Vs. Cancer

Dave Mays is the Director of Vs. Cancer at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) where he leads a dedicated team that recruits and partners with sports organizations at all levels to raise awareness and funds in support of PBTF’s mission. Through sponsored games, athlete hospital visits, and unique team-focused experiences for patient families, Dave brings together the sports community to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with brain tumors and their families.

As the Director of Vs. Cancer, Dave oversees all aspects of this innovative fundraising initiative, which directs funds to both cutting-edge research and family support programs. He also collaborates with sports industry organizations, such as the Prep Baseball All-American Game, to position Vs. Cancer as an official charity partner.

Because brain cancer remains childhood’s deadliest disease, Dave views PBTF’s mission as absolutely critical. Through his work, he draws constant inspiration from the resilience of the patient families he meets, the unwavering dedication of PBTF’s many volunteers and supporters, and the passion of his colleagues. Believing in the power of collaboration, Dave works to unite sports teams and corporate partners to drive meaningful change in the effort to combat pediatric brain tumors.

Dave resides in Crown Point, Indiana, with his wife and two sons. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he loves coaching his sons’ various teams, visiting stadiums, and cheering on his favorite teams with his family. When he’s not on the field or at an event, Dave enjoys unwinding on the golf course and traveling to new destinations.
