Jeff Gelfand**

Board Chair and Executive Committee Member | Centerbridge Partners (retired), New York, NY

Jeffrey Gelfand is Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the largest patient advocacy funder of pediatric brain tumor research. He has chaired the board since 2024 and became Chief Executive Officer in 2026, bringing more than three decades of finance and operations leadership to the Foundation’s work on behalf of children with brain tumors and their families.

Jeff’s commitment to PBTF is personal. When his son was diagnosed with a brain tumor as a child, Jeff experienced first-hand the uncertainty families face and how much it matters to have a community standing beside them. He also saw how research and collaboration across the scientific community led to better treatments and outcomes for children. That experience shapes his leadership today.

Over the course of his career, Jeff built and led the finance, operations, and technology platforms of leading alternative asset managers. He served as Senior Managing Director and founding Chief Financial Officer of Centerbridge from the firm’s inception in 2006 until his retirement in 2018, and was previously founding Chief Financial Officer of both Silver Point Capital and Evercore Partners. He began his career at Ernst & Young. Since retiring from Centerbridge, he has advised family offices, alternative asset managers, and fintech platforms on change management, new firm and fund launches, and technology solutions.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York.
