Kickstands up! Ride with us to end childhood brain cancer.
Our legacy is grounded in the belief, and the proof, that wheels can move more than people; they move hearts, build communities, and bring hope to families facing the unimaginable. That proof began in 1984 when two motorcyclists from Atlanta, Mike and Dianne Traynor, mobilized their riding community to support a local child diagnosed with a brain tumor. What began as a single grassroots ride —Ride for Kids, quickly ignited a nationwide movement of purpose-driven riders and supporters united in the fight against pediatric brain tumors.
That one event grew into hundreds across the country and ultimately inspired the founding of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in 1991, driven not only by its rapid growth, but by the unification of other like-minded organizations drawn to PBTF’s leadership, vision, expertise, and impact.
Since 1991, PBTF has grown into a national organization serving thousands of children and families each year through innovative programs that address their medical, emotional, and financial needs, while also investing in research and advocacy to drive better treatment options and improve access to critical resources. Today, PBTF remains grounded in that same spirit of community, action, and hope as we work to ensure that every child diagnosed with a brain tumor has the opportunity to thrive.
The riding community and powersports industry help to fuel this work through the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids, the country’s longest-running national motorcycle charity program.
