Common Tests and Procedures
To decide on the best care, doctors use many different tests and procedures when they treat a child with a brain tumor.
Tests and Procedures Your Child May Need
Doctors use many different tests and procedures when they treat a child with a brain tumor. Some of these procedures help them find the tumor and decide what kind of tumor it might be. Others show the doctor how well your child is progressing during treatment.
Tests and procedures can be as simple as a quick blood draw or as complex as brain surgery that takes all day. When your child’s healthcare team suggests a test or procedure for your child, ask them to explain how it can help your child and what risks might come with it.
