Tammy Bates

Sr. Director of Operations

Tammy Bates is the Senior Director of Operations at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF), where she oversees infrastructure, fundraising, and community engagement operations. Her work ensures that every donation, fundraiser, and volunteer effort makes the greatest impact on PBTF’s mission. With more than a decade of experience at PBTF, Tammy has held numerous roles across the organization, from family support to regional leadership in Georgia and the Southeast, to now overseeing national operations.

Tammy’s connection to PBTF’s mission is deeply personal. Her younger son was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in 2007 and passed away in 2009. Motivated to honor his memory and support other families, Tammy began volunteering with PBTF, organizing annual bereavement luncheons for families who had lost children. This work became a calling, leading her to join PBTF as Family Support Manager, where she turned her pain into purpose.

Creating a brighter future for children and families affected by brain tumors is what motivates and inspires Tammy. She finds healing in supporting families through the challenges of a pediatric brain tumor diagnosis, and her dedication to PBTF’s mission fills her cup every day.

Tammy and her husband live in the North Georgia Mountains, where they enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
