Action Alert - August Recess
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) today announces the online publication of our 2025 Pediatric Statistical Report, developed with Quinn Ostrom, PhD, MPH, from the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, the contracted Central Brain Tumor Registry (CBTRUS) Scientific Principal Investigator. The previous CBTRUS statistical report focused on children and adolescents was published in 2022. The 2025 CBTRUS Statistical Report once again funded by PBTF reinforces its role as a catalyst for research that drives better outcomes for children.
With coverage of the entire US childhood and adolescent population, data are stratified by detailed age ranges, tumor types, race and ethnicity, sex, and geography, providing a clearer picture of incidence, survival, and trends in young people. The report includes dynamic tools such as regional heat maps, age-specific survival charts, and tumor subtype distributions designed to inform and engage clinicians, researchers, families, advocates, and decision makers.
Unlike other publications, this edition centers only on children and adolescents, enabling more accurate comparisons to other pediatric cancers and supporting targeted awareness, advocacy, and research efforts. It also highlights two newly identified tumor types since 2022 with implications for diagnosis, trial design, and family education.
Geoff Still, CEO, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, said, “Data should accelerate care and cures. By funding and elevating the CBTRUS pediatric report, PBTF is ensuring the most trusted data informs research, clinical practice, and policy so every child and family can benefit sooner.”

The 2025 CBTRUS Pediatric Statistical Report is available online with downloadable charts and plain-language summaries to support clinicians, researchers, and families. Insights are intended to guide trial design, benchmark local outcomes, and inform equitable resource allocation across states and health systems.
