The Business of Hope How to Keep Believing when Things Feel Impossible


What is hope exactly? And how do we gain it, use it, and cultivate it?  Because Life.  Is.  HARD!   This presentation will define hope and connect it to the authenticity that kids seek.  As a psychologist, Dr. Matt says he’s “in the business of hope”. And how can someone connect to it authentically when it feels like the world is increasingly chaotic, unfair, and cruel?  This talk will focus on what hope truly is from a psychological standpoint and explore how to apply it meaningfully to your life.  The discussion will also address the importance of hope from a medical health perspective, identify potential barriers towards having hope, and workshop solutions to overcome those challenges.

As a psychologist and pediatric brain tumor survivor, Dr. Matt brings a deeply personal and compassionate perspective having experienced firsthand the emotional toll a brain tumor diagnosis can have on a family.

Dr. Matthew Zakreski, PsyD, is a high-energy, creative clinical psychologist and professional speaker who utilizes an eclectic approach to meet his clients’ specific needs. As a consultant, professor, author, and researcher, he has spoken worldwide about supporting neurodivergent children. He is the co-founder of The Neurodiversity Collective.
