The following Star Funds have been set up by families to honor their child or a very special loved one. Through community events and donors’ generosity, these named funds directly support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s research, family support, and advocacy efforts.
Blake Vince Payne Star Fund
Blake Payne was diagnosed with pineoblastoma at 9 months of age. Despite nearly a year and a half of intense chemotherapy, Blake’s cancer was incurable. Through it all, Blake showed everyone around him it was possible to find happiness in the simplest things during the most challenging times. Blake’s legacy continues on through the work of his Star Fund, which serves as a financial catalyst for an unprecedented initiative to study and develop new therapies for infant pineoblastoma.
Caroline’s Crusaders Star Fund
Caroline has lived most of her young life with an inoperable tumor on her optic nerve. She is 100% reliant on new treatments being researched and funded by organizations like the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The novel research this Star Fund raises money for will keep kids like Caroline alive and one day lead to a cure.
The Princess Keris Crown Fund
Determined to live her best life, Keris Nicole Bembry enjoyed everything life could offer her and filled her days with love, laughter, and adventure. The Princess Keris Crown Fund raises money for family support programs in her memory and is supported through the efforts of the Keris Kares community.
The Dragon Fire Fund in Memory of Matthew Tracy
Matthew Tracy courageously faced a brain tumor for nine years. His parents, Mike and Kelli, honor his memory by continuing to push for better research and support for families and being active in the bereaved parent community.
Tim Gruensfelder Star Fund
In his life, Tim Gruensfelder was passionate about helping children and teens facing a brain tumor diagnosis. He spent his life fundraising and participating in clinical trials in hopes of finding a cure.

Cancer changed a lot of things about Cooper Hodges’ life, but it never changed his happy spirit. He never lost his will to fight, and he never gave up hope. His family didn’t either. Join them in fighting for a cure for this deadly disease. Join them in sharing Cooper’s story. Join them in sharing HOPE.
The Elyse Reeves Star Fund
Elyse Reeves lit up any room she was in and always put a smile on people’s face. After she passed away from a brain tumor in 2015, her father Jeremy Reeves started The Elyse Reeves Star Fund in her memory.
My efforts to raise awareness about the disparities in pediatric cancer allow me a place to direct all of the motherly love that I still have for Blake.
